Bobby, surely you have heard of the PENN RELAYS??

The PENN RELAYS and the DRAKE RELAYS are the two premiere track and field championships in this country.

i'll have to agree with bobby here, why should this be on everyone's bucket list?

i think i'll stick with some of the great things i have seen like jordan in the finals, lambeau field for championship games, tiger woods winning the 2008 us open on broken legs, etc etc

My geezer sr.citizen relative that lives across the alley from me was a stud athlete at Morningside College in Sioux City and all he talks about over and over again is winning ribbons 70 years ago at the Drake Relays. He was an athletic director-coach in my small town forever and even had a team just like Hoosiers. The guy is one of a kind where he's such an idiot of a character they could have made a reality show about him.He is senile and still thinks he's a stud and chases women of all ages.Ever since I knew him he scratched his balls every 10 minutes in front of crowds of people. Then he goes on and on about being buddies with George Allen the dead Redskins coach he went to college with.I don't think he knows or remembers that George died of getting gatorade dumped on him in below freezing weather.I can't make this stuff up.His kid recently told me that he had to find a new girlfriend because his last girlfriend came down with Alzheimers disease.

If they got everyone together from his coaching days where they gathered stories about him,you could make a movie one hell of alot funnier than friggin Mr.Woodcock.Ex head ref that reffed 3 Super Bowls Bernie Kukar lived 3 houses away from us growing up and all my geezer relative talks about half the time in any conversation is how great an athlete he was. It's like listening to a 20 minute record where it starts all over again where he says the same thing over and over and over.

I swear the guys drives 60 mph down our little narrow alley. There is a big cement retaining wall by our football field and there are marks in iit from him not stopping in time to park.He used to drive kids to track meets with his car and got carried away telling stories and the kids would put the stick in reverse at stop lights and he put the peddle to the metal in a jack rabbit reverse start. He used to slip off the diving board at the pool and kids thought it was a stunt and he was actually knocked out. When he came to he stuck it to the whole phy ed class with some monster paddle he had.He would type if you could call it that at a table in the gym when kids played skins and shirts hoops and kids from cross court were whipping balls at his head where 30 were near misses until one finally knocked him kukoo. The guy was oblivious to his suroundings and he used to brag about being a navy flyer and having peripheral vision. One time he caught this Indian kid jumping off the balcony onto the trampoline and he beat the dog crap out of him. After lunch he gets a call to come to the principals office and this kids old lady round house kicked him in the nuts right when he was entering the door.

We didn't get alot of sports tv here back in the old days but everytime some show was on tv about Lombardi's or Toe Blake or John Wooden's coaching methods and motivations was on tv,the next day he implemented them.
