Was out in the garage working on my latest project. Was digging for something & found these from 2002. Found some the other day that I had printed from the weekend of Sept.11, 2001. The week there was no football. Sad times all around.

Anyway, I've seen a few guys on here ask about parlay cards. I used to run them heavy, was a lot of fun & damn good money! I ran a large operation & these cards were the gravy. Do you guys see a lot of them anymore? Seems like kind of a lost art!

What is "5 on 5" ?

That is pretty much how much local used to run them, pick em games were -2 both ways, and all ties lost. His cards also paid on 9 out of 10 but I think it was 25 to 1, and 10 out of 10 was 125 to 1

Do people really go for that shit ? Under 36, and over 40 on the same game. So if that game falls on 36, 37, 38, 39, or 40, everyone loses.

These parlay cards are no where close to +EV unless you are the house. I dont doubt he made a killing on these if he got enough idiots to play them.

The totals are horrible, the fact that ties lose and of course there are going to be a lot of 3 's and 7's as lines, and the fact that pick ems are -2 each way, and even if someone hits one the payouts are terrible.

I know people used to play this shit in the 80's and 90's but I didnt think too many people would go for this shit on January 6 2002, long after the offshore book industry had become well known by most gamblers.

It says 5 on 5= 100 points.

pick 5 plays for $5 & get $100. Thats a little better odds than the rest & everyone who would buy a lottery ticket will play 5 on 5!

Oh ok, i got it. So a 5 teamer for $5 pays 20 to 1 instead of 15.

Thats the only difference from how my bookie used to do it, his were pretty much the same as this but his didnt have the 5 on 5.

Funny thing was, he also had lines on Saturday and Sunday where you could bet individual, or bet parlays. if you waited until Saturday, you could put in say a 5 teamer and it paid 25 to 1, plus ties didnt lose, they pushed down to the next lower payout, and there was no -2 both ways, and totals were whatever they were ( no under 36, over 40 crap ). Yet, amazingly people just couldnt wait until Tuesday night/ Wednesday morning when these stupid cards came out to bet at much much worse odds. Complete Squares.
