My approach changes every few months or so as I evaluate and re-evaluate. The more I think about it the more I'm inclined to believe that if I am going to stay in the game long term and actually, get this, MAKE money, I need to bet for + money only.
Just look at the NBA last night, for example. Miami was 8.00 at the Greek and they won. Atl won in Orlando and Phi knocked off Hou like it was easy. These + money plays made serious cash for takers. Besides, if you bet the favs in those games and won you still would have to be right much more often than if you took your chances on dogs if you want to make money, particularly when you figure in the juice.
I'm hoping those of you vets out there who have loved and learned this game and have it figured out will weigh in here. Really tempted to start only looking for undervalued dogs and strategically placing bets on them. I might be done with favorites, or at least big ones, all together.
