i like a few of their songs...but for them to sell out stadiums is hard to believe. I don't even think Metallica could sell out Soldier field 2 nights in a row, or would even try, and they are 1000X the band Bon Jovi is.

I went 2 years ago when they were here and it was awesome!! The concert was at a smaller outdoor venue and we were right near the front.

I saw on tv last night that they're coming back in December and they have to keep adding shows as they just continue to sell them out.

The last concert I went to in a stadium was Jimmy Buffett in Atlanta at Bobby Dodd Stadium. It was packed full of drunk people wearing either balloon parrots or shark fins on their heads. Good times.

Nina, every Buffett show is like that. They're some of the best shows to see because the crowd is so good. As far as Bon Jovi is concerned, I thought those giys died after they recorded the opening music to the deadliest catch

Not a Bon Jovi fan myself, but how the hell can anyone say they are "overrated"? Which rating system is this? If someone can sell out 2 stadium shows back to back, I'd say they are doing something right and put on a good live show that their fans keep paying and coming back for.

Bon Jovi is amazingly popular man....i'm surprised you made this thread. There are probably 50 million people in north america who would pay to see them live. I'm not a real fan of the group but id like to see them. Saw them in 1987...my first concert ever.

They are huge with a free spending demographic.....40 something chicks. Plus I believe they are tapping into the christian rock market so they are a "safe" rock show

actaully went to the show a week ago at the rogers center (sold out) in toronto with my mom...tons and tons of middle aged women that got all dolled up for the show..... i have not seen so many milfs in my life congregate in one spot in my life...

It's a pretty amazing story how this particular one band from the 80's hair-metal/pop-metal days not only survived, but flourished ridiculously... stunning. Obviously Jon Bon knows what people like.

But nothing about this show would interest me. Music that reaches so many people is generally way too watered-down and boring for my tastes, compositionally speaking.

Plus, who wants to go to STADIUM shows? The sound is all muddy and you can't see the band anyway!

I go to concerts about once every couple of weeks, but they are club shows. Instead of $100 you pay more like $12, and you are standing there just feet from the band! Sound is 1M times better as well!

Seen SOOOO many great concerts in smaller venues... and a lot of great bands who went on to play much bigger shows....
