DNA evidence is getting sickly accurate....

I watched Forensic Files yesterday, some guy murdered 2 out 3 young women sharing a house .

They kind of hurt his relationship with a GF, so he had some motive. Evidence was a few of his cigarette butts from outside the house and some of his blood.

From just that they tell he likely had blue or green eyes, was white, blond hair. Guy saw it on TV and turned himself in to get a life sentence instead of possible death.

That DNA stuff is so accurate it is unbelievable.

I think PO-LICE could solve any crime they want to with that resource but they can't devote the manpower to every case....so only certain cases get the full on treatment.

Who cares if some Hooker/ bum/ illegal is found dead in an alley mentality.

Kill/ rape the mayor's daughter and they likely use everything they have to find the perp.

I knew DNA was solid evidence but I didn't know it was this solid. Cops had his DNA but it didn't match anything on file.....dead end.....NO !

They could tell with good certainty the guy was of NW Euoropean ( or some region) ancestry. So he's white. then they get to likely eye and hair color....dude just walks in and confesses after seeing the description....

They can tell my grandmother was born in Austria and I have blond hair and blue eyes from my cigarette butt and a drop of blood now. that blows me away !

Clearly it won't be used on every case, just the PC ones.

I thought you needed to match the perp to the DNA and were screwed if he wasn't in some data base of rapists and such. As in a random ( one time) killer not in an DNA database likely gets away....not really ( if the Cops want to pursue it. Some dead hooker on Fremont st in LV.....I doubt they do all this stuff.....but they could !

A drop of your blood is becoming almost like a fingerprint, and most of us have been fingerprinted for some reason like a job.

Crime doesn't pay is the moral of the story.

I'd pretty much execute the million or 3 million people ( whatever) in prison right now, but I might hear some strong appeals.

I'm not pro-crime by any means , but I might root for an underdog like that barefoot kid they recently caught in the Bahamas, sort of a cult hero.....I knew of his stuff a few years ago, stole planes without knowing how to fly, I liked thje pelotas he had.....a criminal for sure, never killed anybody or similar..........like that Catch me if you can guy....played by leo decrapio or whatever his name is

Yea, I knew about that kid long ago to. He is a hero to some. A criminal to others. I read the stories about how the gov't would stake out his moms place and raid it like every month looking for him. He kept slipping away. Kid is amazing. Like I said before, watch him get a job after he gets his legal troubles in order.

It's pretty sad that the sexual predators get off much much easier than the people who do drugs or deal drugs.
