HOF Andre Dawson- A CLASS Act!
Newly inducted HOF'er Dawson represents the true baseball player, he left Montreal in 1987 to sign a "blank" contract with the CUBS for 500K. He was making 1.2 M with the Expo's, but they offered him 1M to renew.
Not only was he NL MVP in 1987, but he endured 12 knee operations to continue playing.
He said, " I"m living proof that if you love this game, the game will love you back.
Andre, you deserve to be in the HOF, wish today's younger players would heed your advice!

When he came to the Red Sox, he had been in the league for 18 seasons and underwent god knows how many knee surgeries. What did you expect him to do then?

I guess maybe had he did a bunch of HGH like all of today's players, his knees would have held up and he would have hit 61 homers in Boston and still be playing today.

Only three people in history hit more than 400 homers and stole over 300 bases. he was one of them. you are way off base here. Dawson HOF for sure.

If Dawson's knees had not been ruined by montreal's poor excuse of a stadium and turf.... he may have hit 600 homers and stole 600 bases

who else would take a 50% pay cut and still truly enjoy playing the game of baseball.

He was the meanest looking dude I've ever seen.

Not sure he is deserving of the Hall. But without the 12 knee surgeries he would of probably been a top 5 player of all time. He could steal and cover the whole field and hit every way possible so yea, let him in.

here in montreal, all of us are shocked how dawson made it in before Timmy Raines.. we all expected timmy rock raines to be there way before. he was more of a dominant player.. timmy and hendu are the 2 greatest leadoff and SB players of allllllllllllllllllll time..

i'll never forget when he chased the late Eric Show all around wrigley after he got hit in the face with a pitch.

Dawson was a true 5 tool player, and one of the best of his era...he certainly deserves the HOF induction

come on archie, no way you got that all off the top of your head.. you had to have looked that up.. come on man.. if not, then i crown you MR baseball of SBR.. that was impressive man.. you're even better than me at expos players.. or close to it at least

did you know that the spos were picked to be team of the 80's.. and it never really happened. and then we were said to be team of the 90's by SI... we had talent.. even our farm team were superstars.. and once again, nothing happened.. and then the big fire sale after the strike, when we had by far the best record in baseball and breaking all sorts of records. they then decide to call it a year. and the following yr, we shipped otu everyone..who knows if that strike didn't happen, today we might be 10x what the rays are, with 6 world series since..

I did get it off the top of my head...those are all players from when I was a kid/teenager... and I was a huge baseball card collector...when it comes to those cards Nicky, I have like a photographic memory...

                                mr baseball,

just look at your list.. the first 3 are all HOF.. then 2 of the next 3 on your list are RANDY and PEDRO.. so 5 of your first 6 are superstar hall of famers.. i am still not incl VLADY or walker..

we've been in the league just as long as our rivals the Pakistan Blue Jays..

archie, how many can you name from toronto that will be in the HOF???

i would like to ask you mr baseball, cause this is your expertise.. can't be more than 2. if that many..

i am proud of my expos.. i miss them so much.
