Attn sbr john (hilton type contest)
Just wondering since your site seems to have the best software to set up a contest i was wondering what u thought of a posters post up contest where we get the money without any rollovers? I think this would bring posters from every site imaginable. the catch would be that we could post our five games anytime before the game starts. Not these ridiculous contests where i have to have my five picks in at 1255 the other sites have. Who bets like this? I know the Hilton isn't like that but that is their contest. Copycats from other sites need to have all five picks in at once because they don't wanna overload their scorers with multiple post which means more work. Your site avoids that with ur great software. Heck ya can even get a book to throw in money on top of the prize the post ups offer like other sites. Just throwing this out there cause i see a lot of these type of contest starting to pop up and they are all the same. Who wants to like a Thursday night game and since u like it u have to put ur other 4 picks in because of some silly rules? What ya think?

I'm no police officer, but I doubt they could legally do that, I could be wrong though.

But obviously they wouldn't wanna do something that could get their site in a little bit of trouble...

Right, his idea is a post up contest though.

I'm just assuming it's illegal. A few bars in town got cracked down on for having March Madness Pools and shit behind closed doors, just doesn't seem like it'd be the smartest for a high profile site like SBR to do this out in the open. But like I said, I'm not a policeman, nor have I ever been one so I dunno...

How many would post up say $1500?

Yes, we would be interested in making the online version of the Hilton's contest. It's a good idea.

Would ** be an option to send it? If yeah there's a pretty good chance I'd be down. Not committing for sure or anything, but if there were 10+ I'd prolly do it.

We could make it work. SBR would have to guarantee the purse is at least $50,000. Then we could simply follow the Hilton rules except in areas where we could be better like using dynamic lines.

But this will have to be a next season thang though. The SBR staff can not take on another major initiative like this so close to football. Btw, BeatThePrick is kind of a similar format as the Hilton and I do believe there is $140,000 up for grabs this year, double last year. Next year we will try and do a no rake super post up contest,

I am all for it and said it for years that if someone would run an NFL contest similar to the Hilton but the one main difference being you get the line that is currently avaibile at the time you are entering your pick (like you do the BTP contest currently) it would BLOW the Hilton contest away. Shocked the M hasn't looked into this.

This way no stale line bull crap. Stale lines are what ruin the Hilton contest and why I (and many others I know) refuse to play in it as it becomes a matter of having to play 2,3 games automatically a week or you really lessen your chances for success plus now everyone has those games on their sheets, sort of dumb when you think of it.

Adding current up to date totals also when make for an even better contest also, IMHO.

Yeah - Carib's is one of the best contests every year. Looking forward to see what other post up contests will come along this season.

Beat the prick might be the best contest on the net A post up with beat the prick rules would be great also. Only thing i don't like about the Prick is when he picks a game u can't touch that game. I know there are a lot of games but usually he jumps on a big tv game which then gets shut out. Just sucks that i see a lot of these type of contest but nobody that i know has anything close to what u offer via software. I played in the Eog contest last year and the way Blondie was a mistake waiting to happen made ya just want to quit.
