The college and NFL contests at Leroy's pay back 100%, also.

I believe the Stations contest (similar to the Hilton) also pays 100%, but I would have to look at the rules as I've never entered it.

Boy, sour grapes abound! Fezzik won it 2 years in a row and you say "he got lucky on a late run last year". Didn't any other entries "catch some serious breaks"?

Talk about "capper envy". I don't give a damn if he finishes way out of the money this year. Do you even have a frickin' clue what the odds are to win the Hilton 2 years in a row?

I'll take your wager, Hoopster. For any amount. Where have you finished, Hoopster?

Envy/jealousy, one of the 7 deadly sins.

and fezzik goes 1-4 today in the hilton to bring his 2 week total to 4-5-1, a far cry from his start the last two seasons. this is called luck evening out over time

How did you do, Hoopster? Amazing that after just two weeks you are calling Fezz out of the contest!

Thank you for giving me the funniest thing I have read this week!

Yeah, he got lucky two years in a row.

I hope you had a good week Hoopster as it appears you get your enjoyment from seeing others do poorly.

most gamblers give back all of their winnings so why would this fezzik guy be any different? all i am saying is that after the great two years of winning the contest, he will most likely fall back this year and not finish in the money. i have nothing against this fezzik person because i don't know who he is. why wojo has his mouth around fezzik's helmet is something i do not understand

Hoopster - Your theory is correct and it very well could happen that he finishes out of the money. I wouldn't be surprised.

But, ONE bad week and you are dissing his previous two winning Hilton contests. Beating around 400 cappers two years in a row who each paid $1,500 to enter the Hilton is very impressive. Don't you think his luck would have "evened out" already?

I live in Vegas and have heard Fezzik on the radio many, many times. He has been making his living off of sports betting for a number of years. You did say "most gamblers", so at least you realize some gamblers don't give all of their winnings back. Fezzik is the sharpest sharp I have ever heard.

                Best of luck this season.

on eog and majorwager and other gambling sites they say he uses other peoples picks instead of his own, they also said that before the last two years he never finished in the money in the nfl contests in all those years living in las vegas, is it not fair to say that over the past two years and 85 picks each year that he just had a nice run of good luck and now he is finished after having 170 picks where he beat maybe 25 real sharps and 375 who each year who are dead money?

                    Hoop,
First, you are counting on what forum posters are saying as compared to the truth. In 2005, Fezz made it to the Finals in the Stardust Invitational before losing. In 2006, he and Nick Bogdonovich (a very good capper) went head to head in a weekly radio show in Vegas. Both hit over 60%, Fezz hit 63% for the entire season to win the contest. In 2008, Fezz hit 63% to finish #2 in the Leroy's College Challenge out of around 350 entries. In 2009, Fezz won the Leroy's Money Challenge (broadcast on radio) to win $80K.

In the last two Hilton contests Fezz hit 67.5% and 64.6% of his picks.

Fezzik does consult with other sports bettors. He is a member of the infamous "Tuesday Group" here in Vegas that is a dozen or so of professional gamblers that meet weekly. It has been written about on ESPN.com a number of times. He readily admits he uses other people's advice to make picks.

Fezzik does have an arrogance about him. He has a lot of people that don't like him. No offense, but for you to say only 25 real sharps enter the Hilton contest definitely shows me you don't understand the Hilton contest whatsoever!!!

And, you probably don't understand the other contests out here in Vegas, either. This isn't Peoria, there are a lot of very sharp people out here.

I am not trying to shill for Fezzik. I don't like to listen to his holy attitude either. But, I will defend his ability to take other people's advice along with his own capping and to make winning picks. A lot of people hate successful people with the personality of Fezzik. I don't hate Fezzik, but I don't like him. But, he is a proven winner. I'm defending his ability to pick winners, I'm not defending his personality.

Good luck to you this season, Hoopster! You seem sharp, but to ream a guy for one bad week is not very smart. You should know better.

fez is smart, real fukin smart. once he makes the pic's, they are his pic's. who cares how he comes up with them.

the first year he won, he posted all the wagers he made on the final games. its hard to cover $190,000. think about it.

Just FYI, Fezzik had a triple-unit play on A&M at +3.5 tonight.

When the line moved down, he came back with a money line wager on OSU.

                          Nice winning both bets.
