I can again confirm that the avatar is indeed a pic of Mathy. Met him at a Jays game about a year ago and he wore that exact same hat so I would be able to recognize him. Was surprised at how many broads knew him and it wasn't in a gay friend kind of way. These chicks were actually into him. Mathy won't do ANYTHING that isn't positive EV. He parked in a no parking zone and explained that the ticket is $30, and he only gets a ticket 10% of the time. He pays the ticket promptly so never runs the risk of being towed for multiple outstanding tickets. Cost of parking is $5, so he never pays. Brilliant mind.

Just today I was betting PRO-LINE at multiple shops around 11.55AM, knowing Rockies game would go off at 12.00 PM NOON. Since my edge was over 10%, and getting to the next shop would involve dropping $400 on tickets, my expected return to going to the next shop is $40. The problem is that I may not have made it to the next shop in time if I went to the intersection and crossed the street legally. Instead I jaywalked right in front of a bunch of cops sipping Tim's coffee and carefully inserting glazed timbits into their mouths. Since the jaywalking ticket is around $100, I should jaywalk if I believe they will stop me with probability < 0.40. Given their relaxed posture and obvious delight at the decadent Tim Hortons fare on their cop car hood, I estimated the probability at about 0.02.

We were not stopped.
