If one wants to type informally without always looking less intelligent, I'd suggest not capitalizing anything.Comment -

#17As some on here know, I'm always up for policing the grammar around here -- it just seems like 99% of the forum could give a shit.
By the way, Poochie, for the record, "non-existent" is also a nonexistent word.
All prefixes should be closed up with the word, though many people don't realize this. Co-, re-, pre-, non-, etc., all those do not take a hyphen except in certain cases where the reading of the word would be awkward, like certain double-vowel situations, like "co-owner" or "de-emphasize."
I've been a professional copy editor for 14 years, so see me with all your grammar questions!Comment -

Where has all of your gramatically inclined gifts gotten you? You are unemployed, correct? Besides, this is a sports forum. If you would like to tout your dick size about your grammer talents I am sure there is another venue that would be more appropriate for you. Anybody smart enough to be a "professional copy editor" should also be smart enough to always consider your audience.

#24Originally posted by poochiecollinsIt's an alternative spelling, according to Wiktionary.org! I didn't really make two ****-ups in a sentence where I called out people's grammar, did I?
However, almost all sources now suggest you do not hyphenate prefixes except in certain special cases. Even the longer ones. People freak out about long-looking words, but it should be multinational, not multi-national. It should be overcompensate, not over-compensate.

http://www.englishforums.com/Elitists have generally made something of themselves.
I do feel strongly on certain subjects, so maybe I come off elitist at times... like with music or movies... But I am fully aware of my lot in life as failure and bottom-feeder! LOL!
Carry on with your work as well! Wait, what is your work?
Oh, by the way, the elitists I cannot suffer are the ones who brag about getting all kinds of amazing A+, supermodel pussy every second. Those are the ones I can't deal with and who I want to throttle.Comment -

#29It's good for everybody to have something they feel strongly about and which they excel in. Obviously, I am not a grammer expert. I did however graduate from college and enjoy my work as an insurance agent. Was a C student in English Lit in college but generally my A's and B's because my sister could clean up my work.Comment -

I honestly don't care about them, except when I can barely read somebody's breakdown of a game, like when it takes forever to get through their analysis because it's so loaded with errors....
ACTUALLY... that reminds me... Much worse than the grammatical errors in here are the punctuation issues!!! That's my one real pet peeve. Periods and commas were invented for a fukking reason -- to improve readability! Use 'em!Comment -

#34Originally posted by CapybaraLyon, your grammar isn't bad at all!
It leaves quite a bit to be desired. There are many things about the English language I mush. I have been told before by college professors. Many things were cleaned up in time and I did get better, but it is not natural for me. I was a decent student in school but a long shot from a Rhodes Scholar. My sister on the other hand was naturally gifted. It made sense for her and she excelled in it. Learned from her as well. Some of my college professors told me I wrote well and had good intentions, but my grammer was holding me back.
I went to college to play baseball and respected my professors so naturally I had no worries. Only dumb jock athletes with attitudes got bad grades. Show some respect and eagerness to learn... well, let's just say it was ok.Comment -
