opening day live at Del Mar is something every man should experience once in their lifetime

Ive done opening day and the Pacific Classic but there is something about opening day that brings out the ENTIRE city of San Diego...on a WED!

one year I remember a dj on the radio station we were listening to as we pulled in to town said "and the entire city of San Diego will be calling in sick today as its the opening day of Del Mar"

I know a ticket writer...a lady that has been working Del Mar for about 30 years...when we go down she gives us a pass to park the RV on the backside of the track...we get to have breakfast in the jockeys room

David Flores told me one year he liked his horse in the 3rd and it ran last...lmao

we usually would stay from opening day until Sunday...Del Mar Margaritas are $20 a pop

You can see the ocean from the track

I couldnt make it down this week but I will get down there in the next 2 months at least one time

It's the place to be seen. Only Gamblers care about it after opening day.

The spa has the best racing. Del Mar is nice but for gambling purposes New York will have many more players.
