KC really has a solid offense
Didn't realize how solid their offense is. I mean there #9 is a .270 career batter with some power and they really are good through and through. No spot in their lineup you can point at and say its really really weak. Maybe Kendall as their two batter, he has absolutely no power but he still at least hits for decent average (plus hes the catcher).

If this team could get some pitching they could go places.

These guys sure can hit! Their team offense is #1 in MLB in hitting average at .281

Their problem, as you pointed out, is their pitching. They badly need to improve on that team ERA.

Its all about our bullpen which is getting better, if they had a solid bullpen earlier in the season, theywould be a .500 ball club.

also, their slugging is at .404, which is average. But you take that average number at also think about how they have the highest team batting average, you have to come to the conclusion that they just can't score a lot of runs. I'm also, a total guess, that they have been in the most double plays in the MLB (stats somewhere?).

just found the stat: they are tied at #4, for hitting into double plays (84 total).

Side note: the line from worse to #3 is pretty straight, but the top 2, SF and Minn, jump way up (96,103)

So, along with the pitching problem, their inability to convert a whole lot of runs from their hitting success, is what's hampering this team's ability to effectively compete in that division.

I don't have the grand slam stats for this year, but I don't think the gs is a common occurrence with this team. I mean, KC is just not a home run type of a team. They are the 5th worst team in MLB in home runs.

                          I agree with netinfo.

I think the offense is not underrated. its just okay.

they have no power so if they get behind they are pretty much cooked unless they can singles you to death. they need a power bat in the middle of the lineup.

which is still pathetic. Most good hitting teams can be .500 without great pitching
