Saw a couple of alcohol threads and I figured I would start my own. I've been feeling a bit under the weather(common cold) the last few days. When I have a common cold there is nothing I like better than a Screw Driver. I mix it around 50% Vodka and 50% OJ with LOTS of Ice. It has virtually no taste when I'm sick. After a few sips my nose stops running and I start feeling better. Anyone else have a drink of choice when they are sick?

#5What Holtetsback said. Chicken noodle soup works wonders. Also drinks lots of water. OJ and other juices are great too, but try to leave the vodka out of them. Save the vodka for when you can actually enjoy it. You have to take care of your body when you are sick or else it will take you longer to get better.Comment -

#8I've been eating plenty... soup... sandwiches... and salads has been my diet for the last 3 days. But when the evening comes... I like a ScrewDriver after my 3rd meal of the day.Originally posted by GELATINOUS CUBEYOU-SOUND-LIKE-AN-ALCHY----------- WHICH-MEANS-YOU-SHOULD-PROBABLY-EAT HAVE-A-COUPLE-HEALTHY-SANDWICHES-AND-DRINK-SOME-WELCH'S-GRAPE

#9Juices and more juices I like. Usually orange (really enjoy the pulp in the juice) to get the vitamin C, Sunny delight is nice and/or Gatorade (any flavor). I think smoothies are great, banana, strawberry mostly. I like most all fruit juices. The kids fruit pouches are real good and go down nice for me. Milk serves as a nice refresher when I am dehydrated. Also, a lot of water seems to help. Tomato juice is good, IMO. I can drink that fast along with those YOOHOO milk drinks. Back in the day I would fight sickness with alcohol, but I do not do that any longer.
Edit.... Soups are super but reading the labels, there is soooooo much salt in most of them. I am trying to reduce my salt intake for high blood pressure issues. Fruit(s) (apples, bananas and tomato, grapes or oranges) are good alternatives for me I guess when there aren't many options.Comment -

#17For me it depends on the illness. If I'm having stomach issues, a beer tends to soothe my gut. A head-ache, advil and beer. A cold or flu, coupla beer help. Body aches and pains, beer. Any other type of illness, a few beers. Even when you're not sick beer.
If however, you're having problems with a woman, numerous shots of rye or tequila will do the trick, makes you pass right out.
