I don't care what anyone says about Vizio. I bought a 42" a few years back and I haven't had a single problem with it. If it dies tomorrow I will have gotten my money's worth. Btw statnerds... how much did it set you back?

Yes it has a good picture but you can't compare it to the Panasonic Viera or Sony Bravia.

Hoping this thread doesn't turn into a "whose tv is superior" discussion. Men are worst than women talking fashion at times.
And most components are shared amongst product lines anyway. So good buy, what did it set you back?

who is John Galt?
i dare anyone to find a comparable television for the $748 i paid. stopped in Best Buy on way there just so i wouldn't be missing a deal or anything. told them the specs on the Vizio and the price range, and the chick came up with one close to, it was a Samsung with the exact same features, except it was a 40".
i couldn't believe the difference when i watched Netflix streaming on it as compared to my last tv. and Good Guys on FoxHD last night was incredible, which actually made my wife mad. the pic was so clear and pure she couldn't watch the show because "it doesn't look like i am watching a show".
short of it blowing up 2 yrs and 1 day from now (2 yr warranty) i am extremely pleased. no blur.
glad to hear the 42" had zero problems and is still going.
funny shit is i know a couple Comcast installation guys and every one of them says the same thing when i say best HDTV? Sony. then I say what about cheaper ones...Vizio. Geeksquad guy fixing my shit-ass 37" said the same thing, if you got the money, get a Sony. but if you want best bang for your buck get a Vizio.
been researching HDTVs for months now. wasn't planning on purchasing one. but wondering through Costco, saw the price and the 47" on the ticket. so i figure 720p. nope, 1080p. so then i figure 60hz...nope 240hz. so then i figure some shit ass contrast ratio like 20K:1....nope, 150,000:1. go on their website and you will see the same set for $898.00.

My advice to you would be to buy the three year warranty that they offer. I am one of the many who have bought a Vizio in order to save money compared to the higher brands, only to have it go out roughly a year and a half after I bought it. There's a reason that they are so much cheaper than the reliable brands, but if you purchase the three year warranty then you are protected enough to make it worth the cost savings. Enjoy it as long as it works!
