    Computer paranoia - I'm prepared.
My main computer is an IBM ThinkCentre 3Ghz P4 with Ubuntu 10.4 (Linux) as the operating system.

Hard drive is encrypted with truecrypt and any usb flash drives and usb hard drives I have are also encrypted with true crypt. Password is 26 digits - a combination of letters (caps and lowercase) numbers and special characters (like #$%), it would take eternity to crack the password.

I have Windows 7 installed in VirtualBox OSE and run it within Linux so there are no security issues with it, no need for anti-virus either.

I believe I am covered, can you think of anything I may be missing?

compaqDikk, you probably have more protection than this, right?

You tend to go where no man has gone on the Internet....In the end you have to go through an ISP....

The safest software is the software that no one wants. Because being able to crack it isn't a big deal.

norton internet security would probably be better mrmarket
that way you get norton anti-spyware, intrusion prevention, firewall, etc

i'm not even close to an expert but i was told this was much better than just the antivirus

Into your computer, rarely. Into a major corporation's or gov't's computer all the time. Internet Law (mostly copyright etc. but some criminal law) is a major specialization at most American law schools

Never. That's why malware is so proficient. No one can police the Internet.

most of the guys that do the viruses/worms/hacking probably work for the antivirus companies

great way to make sure people need your software
