    Seeks advice from exp. bettors
Ok I am new to sports betting.
In general I follow Football, NFL and NCAA, and Hockey
    Mostly from a Pittsburgh Perspective.

I am small time, casual. I put in 30 dollars and bet $1-2$ on a bunch of games.
At first I was doing 3+ parlays and I was getting killed.
Now I bet on mostly 2 team parlays. I have gotten fairly good at it. But I bet on everything, NCAAB, NBA - things I never watched in my life, lol. But actually I have been since following some teams and getting pretty good at making picks (.400 being pretty good).

I started thinking though maybe I should be betting 5-10$ on one game for a 8$ payout instead of 10 1.$ bets?

I am talking about making money here not the enjoyment I get out of watching 10 different games on a saturday.

I realize I am small time here, but I wonder what more expirienced guys think. About parlays and spreading out like that.

I would stop the parlays for now. They should be a tool in your betting arsenal, but not one that is used so frequently. I would also narrow down your plays a little.

Instead of spreading out 10 different $1 bets, try to pick fewer stronger bets and increase your bet size some. It is advisable to have a rule of thumb in place that you feel comfortable with, such as 2-5% of your roll risked on any one given play. However if you have a smaller roll I would just pick an amount that you feel comfortable with, without investing it all on one play obviously.

You want to concentrate your money where your edge is best. Are you betting on and against Pittsburgh teams? If so, you might want to increase to something like twenty dollar bets on games that involve Pittsburgh teams. Of course, keep records to find out for sure.
