I don't know about your question, but bet the under on the All Star Game...nothing to do against the best pitchers.

I think if you had PitchFX data you could probably get an idea of how well a batter connected with a pitch that was "served up" v/s all pitches to him. I think a players regular season home run count probably has little to no Derby predictive qualities.
