Because he was a jackass and posted the damn receipt which included the Credit Union's name/address/phone number, the name of the teller and the time of the transaction. Do you understand now why if this whole thing is true, which I have serious doubts now that it is, then he kind of deserves someone ratting him out since he was an absolute idiot about the whole thing?

Listen, I don't believe in ratting someone out for a few reasons but one of them is because I've seen firsthand how some 'rats' ended up when the person they snitched on got a hold of them. I told Brock in his original thread that I'm not judging him because it's not my place to but also warned him that by starting that thread in the first place he was opening himself up to advice/opinions from everyone. For all we know, several people contacted the credit union. How many people in that thread alone said they work/have worked for a bank or even have a relative who does? Add to that the number of people who lurk here and never register.

No matter what you think of him being busted or someone contacting the bank, you have to at least admit he was an absolute idiot for not only posting that receipt but by keeping it up there after he was told that someone was going to make the call. I'm not sure if it was arrogance or just stupidity but either way it was a foolish thing to do on a PUBLIC forum amongst total strangers.

Him posting it, and then keeping it up there the whole time, doesn't make sense to me either and that's partially why I believe this may all be a little bit of home-cooked drama out of nothing. But to answer your question - I'm not sure what someone gains by ratting him out. Maybe they feel like they've saved the teller her job by doing what they believe is the morally correct thing to do? Or maybe they just didn't like his forum persona? I personally wouldn't get involved in it, even if I knew him off the forum, but everyone on here has had a different journey through life and I guess that's what makes us all unique.
