Who knows a lot about bugs???

I had a bug fly into my house last night actually kind of walked in after jumping off the light i have near my door. I guess it was standing on the light. Half an hour later it flew into my room and was perched on a the wall. I'm in the southeastern US. BUG is huge about the size of three large roaches combined and brown. Long not fat. It flew about 15 yards into the dining room after i made a move at it and i havent seen it since. Someone told me it was some sort of wood bug another person said praying mantis (which scares the hell out me). Can not get pics because I cant find it.

My brother did....he said thats not it. Its more straight and its doesnt have wings. It didnt look at all like a dragonfly. I didnt get a great look because i didnt have my contacts in or glasses on but that looks a little like it to me because i thought to myself it looks like three roaches connected to each other. What kind of bug is that?

It's a walking stick. You said it was stick like. Some of them can fly.

maybe sickler but it was thicker than that. If someone can discount that it was a praying mantis i can sleep at night. Do they come out at night?

without a doubt its a Praying Mantis
