You are good at gambling, but you cannot reap the benefits of picking winners. Does that sound fair? What if the Feds put in a rule that allowed us to be paid with toilet tissue. Now what is the difference between this and the NCAA not allowing athletes to get paid for being good at sports and paying them in tuition. What do toilet tissue and tuition have in common? Both can be good for keeping your ass from stinking but it won't get the bills paid and keep money in your pocket. Think about it. We are against amateur athletes getting paid for their services but not against getting paid for picking winners. Hypocrites.

What is wrong with Reggie Bush paid? Who was the most dynamic/popular/famous football player NFL or NCAA during his last 18 months at USC? Take the top .0000001% of any industry and tell me what Bush received is out of whack. The top doctor, lawyer, surgeon, plastic surgeon, urologist, artist, painter, etc will dwarf the average pay of the industry by unbelievable numbers. What does tuition have to do with being good in amateur athletics? What is the common thread between the two? Nothing. You are making kids work for something that is not tangible to them. most college players arent good and most gamblers arent winners.
those that do go pro get their money, just as "amateur" gamblers can turn pro if they are good enough.

It sucks IMO, I never received any cash in my college days, aside from per diem. However when I was playing Juniors I pretty much got paid in cash under the table by every organization I played for. Yeah its great to have your schooling paid for, but I don't see what's so wrong with throwing a few extra dollars the kids way to use for personal use. After all these colleges make so much money off them.Comment
