Are Then/ than different in Canada ?

WTF? The meaning of than/then is universal, it's meaning doesn't change across countries. "Than" is used when you are comparing things. LeBron James is a better basketball player THAN Billy Blowhard. The DOW has dropped more points this year THAN it did last year.

"Then" is used as an indicator of time, order, or sequence. After I finish making my picks for tonight, I will THEN watch the games on TV. After you send the payment, I will THEN post the money to your account.

On another thought, the amount of times I see THEY'RE, THEIR, THERE misspelled on these forums makes me think that people think believe they're all the same word and that they have the convenience of choosing whichever one they wish in their spelling. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a lot of the people on these boards are borderline illiterate.

I have a friend from Toronto, respect him as a handicapper. He's not an SBR poster, always gets then/ than wrong. I've seen other Canadians do it too !

sometimes I'll slip in a your when it should be you're, it just slips by . Not like I'm writing for a newspaper/ website and need a proofreader.

I'm Canadian and I don't make those mistakes. It's not a Canadian thing. Some people just have poor grammar. Take Richkas for example. A true blue American.

I can easily get to/too wrong, but not two.

Your, You're sometimes....if just typing thoughts....no biggie....internet/ email protocal on spelling.

It's more then a Canadian thing.

In kindergarten we wear teeched better and back than life was more easily four there family and they're friends.
