    Help Please!!!
Hi, im new to the sports betting scene and have encountered my first serious problem and was hoping for some help and advice.. While I was watching the Philly Pats game on Sunday November 25th, I decided to check the BetLive handicaps on WillHill to se if the odds went down from -24 for the Pats..

Well when I logged on and checked the page it said New England to win with odds of +23.5 for payout of 2.25.. Judging by the strength of this team I found it really hard to believe, So i refreshed the page, no change, opened it again, no change, refreshed it again and still no change.. So I said hey, Ill take the team with +23.5 wether it be the Eagles of the Pats, I was probably going to win either way, figured it was avery solid bet to place even if this was just a typo. And worse case scenario, they void the bet because there was an error..

Well, in my account statement it said "New England to win with handicap of +23.5." for the whole game. The game finished, NE won by a meagger 3pts (31 - 28) and it said I had lost the bet and my money because of a mistake they made..

This really frustrates me. I feel ripped off because I would NOT have place that bet if I had known it would have counted as New England to win with a handicap of -23.5!!!! at 21 years old im sure a swing of a few hundred dollars hurts me alot more than a multi-billion dollar Casino..

I have yet to call them, which I fully intend to do, but first im doing research to make a solid case against them and get my money back due to their error. This is no way to treat a customer and is extremely unfair since these "mistakes" can happen at any time and must trick alot of people into wasting money unintentionaly..

Basicaly this thread is to inquire if this had hadppened to anyone else, and if so, what did you do about it?
Did you call them up, dd you get refunded?
Please, any help would be greatly appreciated..

    Thank you for your time.

    HP,

I am not as qualified as most on this site as I use a local instead of online sportsbook. I read here about 3 hours per day and from what I read I think they would say you took a shot at the book knowing the line was wrong. I feel very certain in the rules of your sportsbook that if there is a line that is clearly wrong and you take a shot then you either lose or the bet is refunded as a push. All I can say is if the line looks to good to be true then it is. Do not take shots at these books unless you are prepared to take the loss. I am sure someone can word this better than me but in the end I think the answer will be the same. Stay away from bogus lines.
    Sorry HP

If you placed a wager on an obviously errant line, you should be refunded your wager. Fill out this complaint form and someone will look into this for you.

      Edit :

I'm confused. I must have misread you earlier because it sounded like you were disgruntled with poor customer support, have you actually spoken to an employee of the book about this matter at all? If not, do so immediately and this will be taken care of. You bet on a line that was wrong, and you will be refunded.

As long as your wager reads +24, It should be refunded as a error! Call them about it and they should refund the wager.

WillHill's been doing this for sometime now. The punter thinks he's taking a shot at the book, while the book is really taking a shot at the punter. The bet should obviously be refunded, as he never would have taken NE - the points

Problem is, if they decide to take the BET365 approach to live betting "errors", they'd take both houses on you!

                            Heres their answer

In accordance with Rule 19 Terms of Use of William Hill website :

"Should we mis-state any odds or terms of a bet or gaming wager to you as a result of obvious error in inputting the information via the William Hill Websites, or as a result of a computer malfunction, the bet or game will be deemed to have taken place on the correct terms or prices which were available through William Hill (absent the publishing error) at the time that the bet was struck, and the game or bet will be deemed to have taken place on the terms which were usual for that game."
In relation to this rule your bet(s) will be settled at the correct odds. As this is 'live betting' we are unable to void the bets in accordance with our 'live betting' rules.

For someone that is new to onlone sposrtswagering, you sure seem to know alot. Nevertheless, you should be refunded. In the future dont do this, you may get screwed...

You could have read the terms before taking a shot. It looks like they had this clearly covered in their rules.

Back to my original post which is number 2. Shot takers either lose or get their money back both rarely if ever make oney so why waste the time ?

Didnt know I was taking a shot.. To be honest I thought I would probably end up with the team that had the +23.5 spread.. From +23.5 to -23.5 is a 57 point difference, not something to be ignored.. My money wouldnt have been in there if I had known it was for the Pats at -23.5, thats why I believe I should be refunded, if the mistake hadnt occured, my bet wouldnt have been placed, simple as that..

And as for me seeming to know alot, Chano and others.. thanks i guess, I try..
