We meet Monday, Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Saturdays we train and work on mechanics at LSU indoor facility. On Tuesday which is tommorrow we go over rules, to prepare us for the test we have to take.

Good luck -- I went to become a baseball umpire with a buddy, and he made it, and I fell short but went into college baseball for a while. He made it all the way from A ball into the majors as a floater in about 6 years -- a floater is a AAA ump who fills in on vacations, doubleheaders, etc.... but in MLB, they have a two year move up or move out policy, meaning if you don't make it after two years at your level and move up, then you are cut. He had two full years in at AAA and about 50 MLB games, then was cut. There were 6 guys up for one open MLB position, and he made it to the final 3, but it went to someone else (current ump Dan Iasonga). He now sells insurance and real estate.

Lol my friends and I capped high school basketball games lol. We came up with a +23 point handicap against one of the best teams in the state and the spread was still covered by 7 points hahaha

Congrats but it does take a while to get as far as college football though. You will have to work your way up. I know a guy that does high school and mid level college and he makes pretty good money doing it also. Just good luck and I hope it works out for you.

I been officiating a rec. Basketball and flag football league for adults and kids for about 3.5 years now, so I have a lol experience on the football side. I also did a couple of middle school tackle football games in the area for a private school league.

3 years is probably a little quick to make the jump to college, Z. It will probably take you that long to move to the highest classification of high school football.

If La. is similar to SC, you start out in Class A and move up to Class AAAA based on experience and how you grade out.

The difference is if you score great on your test and do well on your observations you should move up pretty fast
