apparently he sat out this years contest because he did not sign a contract with MLE, Major League Eating. He wanted to be able to eat in other competitions sanctioned by different groups and MLE doesnt allow that. After the contest ended he tried to rush the stage and police arrested him.

some reports say he was invited on stage by the announced, some say he was going to congratulate chestnut and others say he was going to protest.... either way this will get on sportscenter and get the publicity that he wanted...
