independence from English monarchy

The colonies were never dependent on the English monarchy. They were independent for a century and a half before their ultimate authority tried to regulate them.
Governments have learned from this mistake. If you give people freedom and then all at once try taking it away, they're going to fight for freedom. Instead if you make more and more people dependent on the state, you can slowly and complicity progress toward absolute control, absolute tyranny. It's the progressive agenda of subverting freedom just a little at a time.

So on this day that we celebrate being independent, many if not most of us do so in vain and ignorance. These people champion socialist and fascist ideals and policies, and give away their liberty and freedom a little more each day. They elect government representatives that will pander to their mindless whims, or worse, promise to steal from other people to give to them.
