    PC Help
    Can't get connected to the internet. Comcast said it shows I'm connected so problem isn't thru Comcast they said it is with the computer? I'm getting pop-up messages from ads saying this/that file is infected? (Malaware/RV) other security alerts. The system freezes up on turn on and when re-booting. So I can't go into tools to try anything.

    Any suggestions on what to try before I call my sister who is a computer specialist from anyone?

    it works pretty damn good if you are able to post on SBR. see if you can also place bets and forget about it...you don't really need a computer for other things

              Don't listen to this jackass (no offense). Your computer has a trojan on it. You need to format your hard drive and reinstall your OS. There are anti-spyware programs out there (super anti spyware) but it is going to be just easier to do what I said.

                    buy a computer that is same series and switch motherboards out instead of getting new. Otherwise might as well buy a new computer

                                        Try a system restore -->

                                        (if your using winXP) goto help and support there should be an 'undo changes with a system restore' option.

                                                    dollar, why have you not booted in safe mode and tried to run malwarebytes or hijackthis? im a fricking computer technician. you need to try those 2 things first. if you use hijackthis post the log and i'll take a look to see what needs to be deleted.

                                                        As already stated Hijackthis followed by Malwarebytes in safe mode. It is not complicated if you do the steps they will list and read up a bit. If you can't be bothered just reformat but keep in mind all the information on the HD will be beyond reasonable salvage.
