Do you not remember the 1994 game between the US and Colombia? Sometimes people's lives ARE at stake. While it may just be a game to us here in the US, in other countries it can be much more than that.

A Brazilian player was killed in the 90's for scoring on his own team and causing them to lose. It's more intense outside of the US...

Not just normal people, Pablo Escobar was involved. I just saw part of the ESPN 30 for 30 about the Escobars last night. You guys should check that shitttt out. Pretty interesting, and makes you think how serious shitt can get when you deal with drug lords and/or gambling.

Matt Soccer is a religion in a lot of parts of the world. The World Cup comes around once every 4 years. Some of these guys that aren't stars only see this game once in their lifetime. Playing in the World Cup is one of the biggest honors in all of sports.
