    Yosemite's Firefall - (Pictures)
    Yosemite Firefall!

    The waterfall (on the rock El Captain, Yosemite National Park) seems to be "on fire" when sunlight hits it at specific angle.

    This happens only in 2 weeks at the end of February.

    Some photographers may have to wait several years before capturing the firefall on film

    as shown in the following pictures :[/B]

                        I think that one from straight on is photoshopped but im not certain. I used to work in Yosemite for about a year and it is beautiful there.

                            Finally, in January 1968, George Hertzog, Director of the National Park Service, ordered that the Firefall be discontinued.

                            He stated his reasons: the Firefall was a man-made event, which detracted from National Park Service policy to encourage appreciation of natural wonders.

                            He said that if people wanted to see something like that, they could go to Disneyland.
