About 2 weeks ago, I had a problem with my van. I would put brake fluid in it, and the whole thing would leak out. It happened on a weekend , and I needed the van on Monday, so I took it to Pap Boys instead of my regular mechanic. They had it done that afternoon, and my wife and I went to pick it up. My wife complained that she had to turn the wheel to the left to keep it straight, and the van and wheel were wobbling. I called Pep Boys telling them what was happening, and they said they would take a look to see what happened. my wife took it back Tuesday before school because they said they would look at it the moment she got there. She waited over an hour, and then had to leave or she would have missed her classes.
We were then able to take it there Saturday. The manager said they rotated the tires when they fixed the brake line, and that was causing the shaking. He also said we needed to get 4 new tires, and that would stop it. I told him to put the tires back where they were, and I'll talk about tires another time. He called me before we came to get the van, and said it was running great, but we need to get those tires soon. I went to pick it up. Still had to turn the wheel left to go staright, and 5 minutes later, I feel I'm in the Shake Shack. By the time we get home with it because Pep Boys is closed, the brake light comes back on.
My wife calls the corporate office, and tells them the story. They say an area director will call her within 2 days. He calls back while were not home, and says that he has investigated the situation, and we signed the ticket and agreed to the repair. He also said that he talked to his manager and the lack of tread on the tires is the problem. Funny, the van wasn't shaking when we brought it, he hasn't talked to my wife yet, but he's made his decision already. We've tried calling him today and tonight, and we either get the message machine, or the line is busy.
Any suggestions?
