It was there for the taking.. Like a bullfrog staring at a flashlight..just sitting there..
A pitcher that doesn't belong in the league (D.Willis) on one of the worst teams in baseball against Wainright and a lineup that loves lefties...The Cardinals couldn't lose this game, they could redo this one 14 times and the Cards would win every time..Badhops or bad calls couldn't help the snakes today..The books new this, this is why the line opened around -280 and ended up over -300.. But this wasn't just any 3-1 favorite today.. They were realistically about 8-1 favorites and we all blew it.
Sure, you might have made a couple bucks on this one (as did I) but I promise it wasnt enough..
Instead of taking advantage of this game we spread our money around or got turned off all together by not taking the runline because our team was at home..
..or maybe you got suckered into wagering on some of the other games on tap tonight..(as did I)
P.Hughes vs. Cliff Lee at the stadium was a tricky son of a bitch all around.. No one saw the Mariners winning that easy..And these are the games we have to stay away from..
The Rays got me..I thought I was sharp cause I got them at +110 when they ended up favorites right before first pitch..But if you look at this game after the fact it was a "PASS" all along.. Two over rated starters on two inconsistant teams..
I'm just rambling now but the point is we all "gamble" way more than we really should..
Laying -160 against Cliff Lee in my mind is 5 times worse then laying -300 against Dontrelle Willis..I've always known this but seem to always forget...
We should have all been on the Cards today and that's that, end of story...instead we were fighting like jackasses losing more money to the books..
We let this one get away...
