Black Friday Sales - Next Time I Stay in Bed
To get a Compaq Presario laptop for my sister as a Christmas gift, with a Pent Dual Core, for $300, less than half reg price.

Went out to Circuit City at 5 AM - when it opened - already about 300 people in line. Store probably had 50 max of the item, no way I was gonna get one.

So tooled down to Staples, same machine for $350, wth a printer throw in. They opened at 6AM. But at 5:15 already maybe 200 people in line.

Got in line anyway. Guy in front of me said he was at Circuit City early, maybe 40th in line, and they were sold out of the discounted desktop anyway.

I knew it was hopeless, but hung in line until 5:45, when a store imployee moseyed by to tell all that the vouchers for the machine were all gone.

First and last time I get sucked into Black Friday bullsh-t. These stores actually create bad will for themselves with these gimmicks.

Better they have a lottery, anyone who comes buy until noon gets a number, and around 6PM maybe they have a parking lot drawing for the available sale items.

In states where it's legal they could require one to make a small purchase to get the lottery ticket.

So instead I'll put $300 on Mizzou to get it done vs Kansas - better than standing in a stupid line at some ungodly hour.

I would have been surprised if either had 10 machines. they just want people in the stores. That sucks you started you r day that way. Cash some tickets on LSU and Texas and have some leftover turkey. Good luck on your wagers.

I'm up at this hour anyways. Just figured I'd go grab some of those on-sale DVDs and beat the crowds.

WOW, you aren't exaggerating at all. It was pathetic!

They just want you at the stores, so you can buy something not on sale. Because all their discontinued crap is already gone.
