Wow - what a comeback - Thomas Muster
Thomas Muster makes comeback at 42

Vienna: Austria's former world number one Thomas Muster is bidding to return to tennis's elite circuit -- 11 years after he last played a professional match.

Muster, 42, won the French Open in 1995 and held the number one ranking in February 1996. Despite not having played on the ATP circuit since 1999 he claims he has never officially retired.

he Austrian is set to compete in a challenger tournament, which is regarded as tennis's second division, in Brunswick, Germany next week, organisers announced.

Muster is set to play in the men's singles and doubles, and said he has a simple explanation for his absence from the courts.

He said: "At the time all I said was I was going on holiday, so now I'm back from my holiday."

Good for him....I'm a better tennis player in my mid 30's than I was as a 20 year old. Maybe he can do it.

At the elite level, 42 is far cry from 31; he'll get crushed.
