    DUKE/MARQ grading problem
I bet at 5dimes U 37 in 1st 10 mins of 2nd half. Bet was graded as push, but official livescore http://www.ncaasports.com/basketball...21_DUKE@MARQET shows, that the 3pter to 37 came at 9:55.
5dimes rules say that bet are graded prior to tv record. Unfortunatelly I could not see the game. I am sure here are plenty of guys that recorded this match Can you please review it?
    Thank you very much.

Heres a live chat session I just had with them Lucas

Chat InformationYou are now chatting with 'Fred'

Fred: Hello. How may I assist you today?

guest: Hi, I was thinking about signing up with your company to wager on some college basketball proposition wagers. I was wondering which scoreboard do you use in order to grade the wagers in case I'm not close to my tv?

Fred: we use different references for our gradings, from official websites, wagering-related software
            guest: which ones for example?

            Fred: Just a moment please

            guest: ok

Fred: depends on the league and sport, we like to have all the references that we can so that we can double check any information

Fred: in some gradings we tape games, we use official links, club websites,

Fred: a number of references that are not necessary the single one used for a wager type all the time.

            Fred: Just a moment please

            guest: k

Fred: ok sir, I just got an answer form the waering department

Fred: for grading purposes, we use selected wagering-related software that we pay for

Fred: we could use other references if it is necessary, so a particular scoreboard or software is not held as the sole official result that will be considered for our gradings

guest: like for example DonBest or something like that?

Fred: that could be the case sir, that information is not disclosed by our wagering department.

guest: ok, so basically the bottom line is that you don't have any official website you use.

Fred: we prefer to use wagering-sftware-related and other references if there is need.

Fred: we use a number of references, but we don't call any the official one for our gradings

guest: Look at it from my point of view here for a second. Lets say I opened up an account with your company and played these types of wagers, how do I know I'd be getting a fairly graded wager.

guest: clearly you are not telling me which type of scoreboard you are using in order for me to use as a reference to check my wagers.

            Fred: Just a moment please

            guest: k

Fred:I cannot tell you which software we use because the software's name will not be considered for claim purposes

Fred: We will always use the result that is correct for grading purposes,

Fred: according to our rules and Vegas rules as well

Fred: If you have any doubt regarding how a wager will get graded you can read our rules section, since we will grade tickets according to that.

guest: your rules page doesn't show which scoreboard you use to grade the wagers though.

            guest: hence my original question

Fred: That's because we don't use a single source,

Fred: we might use a reference for some gradings and other for another.

Fred: We could use software to grade NFL games while at the same time checking the official US Open Website for a grading on Tennis

Fred: Is there anything else I can assist you with?

guest: Well I see this is rather pointless. Apparently you know and or don't want to tell me what you use. So I guess you couldn't assist me in the first place.

            guest: Thanks

Fred: your welcome sir, I gave you correct information about how we grade games

Fred: I cannot tell you software names because we don't disclose that kind of information

guest: Fair enough... Your answer is as clear as day.

            guest: Cya

            Fred: have a great day

Well theres an hour of my life I just wasted.

No wonder they have a terrible history of mis-grading wagers. It's because they can manipulate things to their advantage.

If all else fails Lucas... I'm sure one of the ESPN networks will show a replay of this game at some point. So hopefully somebody will keep an eye out of it when it airs and posts it. Then maybe we will get our answer for sure.

I've told you before, if you take your dick out of your hand when you're on the computer, you can type a lot quicker.

              That's complete horseshit.

If you're going to grade wagers like this then do it according to a set source. Not naming the sources opens the book to take a shot at every player out there.

I wonder what God would say.

Looks like a replay is coming on ESPNU at 10:30 Middeurope Time.

Actually, no, the guide appears to have it wrong.

I just watched the game and I can officially say that both livescore feeds posted here are incorrect. In fact, this result was an absolute photo finish. I had to go frame by frame to actually determine the outcome.

With 10:01 remaining in the second half, the shot leaves the player's hands. At exactly 10:00 the shot crosses through the rim officially adding 3 points to the score and totalling 37 up until that moment in the half. It is a brutally bad beat, but I would be inclined to think that PUSH is indeed the correct grade. I base this reasoning on the fact that any shot which is in the air when time runs out is counted.

There is a bit of a conundrum here, though, and that is that 10 full minutes had elapsed before the 3 went through the rim. Therefore the grade of PUSH is reliant on the fact that the ball was released when 9:59 had elapsed. The 37th point was not officially on the scoreboard until 10:00 minutes had passed, therefore there is certainly an argument that only 34 points came in the first 10 minutes of the second half.

I just went to the 5dimes website and found the pertinent rule for this situation...

NCAA first & next 10-minute results are determined from recorded tapes of television broadcasts. The ball must be completely through the cylinder and net before 9:59 remaining for a basket to be official in the first 10 minutes of a half.

I can verify that the ball was through the cylinder and net with exactly 10:00 showing on the clock.

Hmmm, only 9 points were scored in the first 4 minutes. I wonder if 5Dimes left this one on the board a little too long...if so, I would suggest quietly accepting the push.

i would ike to thank to all people here, esp. BBD and isetcap, i really did not think somebody would really care about this one, it is not a happy push, but nice to see interest

conclusion: since the things about 10th min are absolutely uncertain, it is good suggestion not to bet those bets at 5dimes, even when NCAAB with bonus rules might be handy /because i would not like to see the dealing if the ball hit the rim and net at 9:59/

Not a problem at all Lucas.

If that is the case Isetcap, then the push would be the correct grading in this dispute.

I just wish that they would clarify their stance on a scoreboard rulings though, because if a game isn't televised. Then how can any of their players really know they are getting a fair shake at all. I mean I just hate to be at their mercy when it comes to some highly questionable grading is all.

But BBD, if they clarified their position then they couldn't as easily fvck players by using whichever source helps them.

I wonder whether they actually graded all the wagers on that bet as losses, in both directions?

                          A rating, my ass.

to BBD: i think they offer those only for tv games, maybe i am wrong
to atakdog: this is an interesting question, i am pretty sure that some people must hit over hardly, because those bets open at -110 and i took the under at +105
but for me the debate is over, isetcap´s research was precise i guess; but i agree, they might change their rules of grading to some independent source

As Isetcap did mention above... They clarified the "TV games" rules, but they never clarified the scoreboard ruling. Well since this game was on TV (espn game) then it would be correct.

I will say this much on this subject though. If they don't clearly state in their rules which scoreboard their is, and if somebody approaches me with a dispute. Along with proof of the play-by-play call from a few different scoreboards play-by-play calls. Then I'd have to say they have a legitimate dispute based on the grey area of the matter in regards to their current rules structure on proposition wagers.
