No reason to let the kid in. Better rookies out there then him. He will have enough chances in my opinion

Yes, the bullpen allowed one of his baserunners to score.

OK, 3 ER in 7 IP, which makes him a perfect 5 for 5 in the Major Leagues in Quality Starts.

I would not say any rookie pitcher in baseball is "better" than hm, I just feel guys like Jaime Garcia are more deserving because they have been up all year.

guy needs to be stretched out enough to go 7 full innings before he is really all-star material next year even....

It wasn't his doing, he pitched fine. He could easily be 5-0 if Nats had any semblance of an offense.

I just don't get how anyone could have anything bad to say about Strasburg and keep referring to him as a "punk." Does he have some sort of history that I am not aware of? He is one of the few pitchers that has actually lived up to the impossible hype that has made most other supposed phenoms shit their pants.

completely agree that he should be in the all star game, probably the best pitcher too
but we should probably see a full season when batters get to know him, also injuries
                          could creep up (kerry wood)

You don't make the All-Star team in one month just like you don't win the MVP in April.

He is 5 for 5 in Quality Starts and has already set 3 strikeouts records. (He finished 2 Ks shy of a 4th record) He did not allow a run until the 7th inning after not having his best stuff early and struck out 5 straight batters at one point.

So tell me again how Atlanta was "cracking his ass"?

when every team has seen him at least once, it will be hard to be as effective against those batters

I disagree, in terms of pure raw talent, Strasburg and Lincecum are the two best pitchers to come into the majors in the last five years.

so you think MLB batters at their elite level will never get better at hitting strasburg?

Have they been able to adjust to Lincecum? Both he and Strasburg have great fastballs and curveballs, and Stasburg has a 90 MPH change up in addition and has more movement on his fastball than Tiny Tim does.

Lincecum is getting hit up all the time these days, he was good in the beginning like Greinke but they both went down fast. Strasborg might be the king now, but wait 5 years before you crown him.

Right, I agree he has to harness all that talent before any real comparisons can be made, but he certainly had a lot to work with. I don't foresee him developing the same arm problems that Kerry Wood and Mark Prior (where are you now?) had after such great starts to their careers, because Strasburg has such a fluid throwing motion. I think Lincecum is a better candidate for arm troubles with all the stress his throwing motion puts on his shoulder.
