dexter 1st season was awesome. 2nd season is a let down.
i no longer feel the show is that interesting. dexter is now just going through the motion of killing people. there is no creativity. when he was chasing the ice truck killer, it was way more interesting. now he is about to get caught, it is turning into one of those typical catch-me-if-you-can shows...nothing new. plus agent dokes is annoying; deb going after the old guy is disgusting; rita is now an annoying bitch.
i bet the show will turn out to be something like this. dexter finally realize he is human afterall and having a delimma of deciding wither to kill deb.

Going through the motion of killing people??

He hasn't really even killed that many people this season! LAST season he was going through the motions, killing a bad guy every episode, but this season he has gone episodes without killing. The fact that he will have to find a way out of this seemingly impossible conundrum (having an entire police force after him) adds a ton of suspense. This season is much more psychological then last season was. Loved season 1 and am loving every minute of season 2. Think its totally fresh too, don't know where you get the idea it is "nothing new"
To each their own I suppose.

**CONTAINS SPOILERS**
I completely disagree, and actually I thought Sunday's episode was one of the best of the series. Every character is still developing well....maybe this storyline would've been best for season 3 or 4, but the show has still been superb.
"i no longer feel the show is that interesting. dexter is now just going through the motion of killing people. there is no creativity."
you really believe this? you didn't find dexter's face to face confrontations with his mother's killer interesting at all? how bout the way he actually killed him? poetic justice.
"plus agent dokes is annoying"
I definitely respect your opinion, but I gotta say I'm surprised here.....almost everybody loves this character. sure he's a nut and obsessed with dexter, but he's an ex special forces roid freak, and his part is acted well. His confrontations with Dexter have been classic, and I'm interested to see where his character goes from here now that he's off the force, though I wish the discovery of the slides would've been left for the final season.
"deb going after the old guy is disgusting"
Maybe so, but the whole point of this story is that the old detective (his name escapes me) is an extension of her father. Harry was always spending time with Dexter, never had enough time for her. Also, he's in law enforcement just like Harry, and has a similar demeanor. Her search for a father figure type also makes more sense considering the trauma of season 1.
"rita is now an annoying bitch"
ya, no arguments here lol. With Rita pretty much no longer "damaged" she makes little sense for Dexter at this point.
"i bet the show will turn out to be something like this. dexter finally realize he is human afterall and having a delimma of deciding wither to kill deb"
this was completely dealt with in the season one finale, remember? I don't think it comes full circle but nothing surprises me in drama shows. btw if someone could tell me how to multi-quote that would help, i'm a moron.
