I'd have to say it's Green Bay (-3) over Detroit Lions!...Geez, I know about the tradition and how well the Lions play on Thanksgiving, and at the silverdome, etc...etc...but doesn't conventional wisdom say that Green Bay should win by 14-17 points considering how well they are playing and Brett Favre is on fire and having a career year and conversely, the Lions have played like crap the last two weeks in losing to Arizona (31-21) and to the NY Giants (16-10) and that game wasn't even that close as the score would indicate but yet vegas has only has the packers as a 3 pt fave?!!..this will probably be one of those infamous "trap" games where all the wise guys will be loading up on Green Bay and the house will make a HUGE killing when Detroit upsets them!.....any thoughts?!

#3I'm going to buy the 1/2 pt to make it +3.5 DET...hopefully the betting public takes the line to 4 and I'll buy 1/2 to 4.5...this game is huge for DET...always is on Thanksgiving and GB is due to play an average game or worse...where as DET is due to play better then they have the past 2 games.Comment -

#4Pico,
that wouldn't surprise me one bit...it's funny how these things work out...One of the handicapping tools that I use (something that my dear Dad taught me a long time ago in this industry) is always assume that Vegas knows what they are doing...as we all know, those guys are right on the button more often than not...but damn man, I'm tempted to jump on Green Bay as a "lock" (god, I hate using that term) considering how these teams have played so far this year, but sure as hell as God made little green apples, Detroit will upset them some how giving credence to the "sucker" bet and "trap" game theories and the old adage assuming that "vegas knows what they doing"!Comment -

#5Westside Pete,
I was thinking about doing it just the opposite buying a 1/2 pt and taking Green Bay at (-2.5)...it seems all too obvious, doesn't it?!!..LOL!Comment -

#6The thing is...Green Bay has played so many good games in a row...they are not a 15-1 team...common sense also tells me to buy the 1/2 pt for Green Bay but I get the feeling it's not going to be the kind of game people expect...Comment -

#7actually 1st half for DET might be the best play ...and then see where things are at half time...DET will come out amped up and need this more then GB does.Comment -

Westside Pete,
you're making my point for me!..hence, that is exactly the reason why I called it the "sucker" bet or "trap" game of the week!Comment -

#9kitna is not that bad, if he got the thanksgiving crowd going for him, and all of the sudden he is like j. cutler on MNF. maybe you should do first half over. and see how that is and bet the 2nd half accordingly
but yeah, green bay and the lions are in different leagues. i wouldn't call it a lock, but greenbay will most likely blow them out.Comment -

#12Pico,
20% juice at bookmaker, and diamond sportsbook!...every where else you will most likely pay 30-35% vig on those books that offer special teasers!...another plus is that with bookmaker and diamond, ties and wins = push, not a lose!..pretty good bargains and odds for those that like to play teasers.Comment
