Pickers&pawn Stars on History, are the Pickers straight?Shows are orchestrated!
I like both these shows but you know they are as orchestrated as Wild Kingdom used to be where they trucked in competing breeds of mortal enemy beasts so Jim Fowler could break up fights at the watering hole while Marlin Perkins mixed martinis back at base camp for the native babes.''record for a run on sentence on SBR Forum?''

You could have dropped me with a feather when I saw an episode of Pickers the other night where one of them mentioned having a wife.Is the tattooed goth vamp woman that runs the Iowa office one of their wives?Chris Collinsworth lookalike or the gay bear guy's wife?

So these guys from Iowa drive thousands of miles in something no bigger than an Econoline Ford van that's supposed to be equiped to carry all of their bought collectibles back home. It's about as ridiculous as Kramer and Newman driving the mail delivery truck to Michigan to make a fortune selling returnable bottles. These two guys make all their money from The History Channel filming the show.

Anybody from Vegas here know the Harrison's and Chumley that run the pawn shop?Anyone ever visit Vegas where they just had to make a trip to the pawn shop because you saw it on tv?So why would so many people who think they have the rarest and greatest one of a kind treasures want to sell them to a pawn shop where all you have to do is Google the stuff to see what it's worth and who will buy it online?

On both shows, the items are salted like salting a gold mine where it just so happens all the rare and unique stuff just keeps popping up out of nowhere.

We stopped by Pawn Stars pawn shop when we were in Vegas a few months back. Surprised me how small the place was. Most of the stuff was odd shit like old jewelry, ivory tusks, was an old babershop chair and motorcycle in the center of the store and alot of tshirts, glasses, hats, etc. I asked where the guys were that you see on tv and she said they are there from like 10-1 m-f and come out into the store on and off during that time. It was nothing like the show you see on tv.

The fat picker mentioned he had a cat at home. He never mentions anything about a wife and kids. So 1+1=2 a 40year old single dude with a cat and no wife or kids might = GAY.

I want to break my hand on Chumley's face. I can't stand the mother fukker. That being said, I like the show but hate it. I like seeing old relics, I hate the mother fukkers that sell their family heirlooms that have been sent down over time to score a bag of weed. These dumb asses get low balled hardcore too. Such a shame.

im sure the shows are scripted to a point.. but the pickers seem to just scam people so i quit watching it. atleast with pawn stars they bring in an expert.. tell you what its worth and then you decide if their price is good enough. on american pickers they go around taking old guys' antiques that are worth alot but they have no clue. the fukkers drive around in the van all day and will end up making nothing off the particular item when you factor in time, gas, hotel, eat, etc etc. like the op said, they make their money from the network and the ones who get screwed are the average old guy.

Pawn guys are scumbags. The expert comes in says 6-8k and then the guy says ok how about 4k and rick goes how about not......how about 800 bucks. I love when he lowballs someone and they walk away.

Pawnstars looking more and more scripted. Saw one recently where they buy a ball and chain and Chumley drops it through a display case, then at the end of the same show Cory is delivering a small chair to NLV ( and bitching about it). they don't deliver small shit...he leaves the tailgate down and the piece crashes to the ground a foot from where he was parked....had to have fishing line tied to it.

These guys steal a lot of stuff almost nothing is bought that they don't double their money on, except junk Gold.

Pickers have to buy low to cover overhead. They should have 5th wheel pickup and a huge trailer.
