#4depends on the place, but most of them if you are a first timer, you have to fill out a form, basically name, address, phone#,place of work and have 2 valid ID's. the max at most places i've been to are 5 grand but i have seen 10 grand. most just cash payroll or peoples monthly government checks. the fees vary, the ones i've used usually have a big chart behind the counter with the % for each type of check. computerized payroll or typed is usually 2-3%, monthly government 5%, person-to-person 5-7%, tax refund 8-10%.
i just cashed my beattheprick check at one, i was in a part of town i used to work, and i used to cash my payroll checks there all the time years ago, so i thought "hell ,i just stop in there", after going through a zillion questions cause i guess i hadn't been in so long, the charged me $6.80 to cash it.
basically the suck, most are in shady parts of town, were most people are on disability or welfare and they just take advantage of people who don't have bank accounts.Comment
