How can a team tied for the best record in the majors be overrated ?
I'm kind of tired of hearing this crap. Yes they do buy free agents, so do other
teams. They can afford to so why not ? The name of the game is to win, and they
              do.
Much of their talent is brought up through their own system. Jeter, Rivera, Posada,
Andy Pettite ( although he did take a 3 year hiatus in Houston ) Robbie Cano, who is making a case for MVP. Youngsters Phil Hughes, Joba, Cervelli and Gardner are all
emerging stars from the Yankees own system.
People who want to hate on the Yankees really should think before they speak. The Yanks are one of the greatest and most successful organizations in sports, they are smart, well run and win. "Nuff said.

                    They have some problems.

Yanking the aging Posada from behind the plate is a great move. He is now expendable. I'm not sure of Cervelli, but he looks good to me.Texeria is a big dissapointment with the bat, but we have to accept him long term, he ain't going anywhere.

                    Cano is GREAT.

Jeter is really kind of ordinary ( now). NYY should look for an upgrade at SS, but that will be tough to sell to the fans.

A-Rod is a bit over-rated. He is more like 25 HR guy now, and on the way down. Certainly not worth his pay.

                    Outfield is far from great.

                    Starters are solid, except Vazquez.

                    Rivera is old.

                    Chamberlain is nothing special.

Overall they are still very good, but might even miss the playoffs.

A lot of old guys on this team....Posada, Jeter, Rivera Pettite, etc. and some vets that look iffy like texeria and Granderson.

Jeter is a total pussy. Watch him every time he comes up in a big spot. He hits a little 10 ft chopper. Sometimes he gets lucky. I want him up every time in a bog spot...because I'm a Red Sox fan.

I think Jeter is in decline and far from a great defensive player these days.

But, If you want to criticize him then define it, like BA with RISP, or more refined shit like how often he grounds into a double play with runners on 1st and 3rd with one out.

                          He's not a pussy, IMO.

Dude has heart, and nearly 3k hits, and would dive into the stands to catch a ball. He is HOF , for certain.

Now, as A Yankee fan, you sign a young version of him, if you canpossibly do it, move him to left field perhaps.

Time for a new SS, if one becomes available, as NYY management you have to make such a move, like you;d take that Mauer catcher dude for 200 million for 8 years or such.

time to at least think of considering his replacement, Jeter has been great, he's HOF. it is also not the year 2000 If the NYY could sign some young hotshot prospect, do it, or even solid veteran player. I don't know who the player is, but there is someone.

teixera will improve as the year goes as he is a good hitter but cano as good as he will come back down to earth jeter is avg at best and arod off the the juice might not hit 20 homers this year i do like gardner potential and spped doesnt slump but swisher is way over his head and will end the year hitting .235 granderson cant hit lefties and posada possibly a future hall of famer but this 2010 and he is one injury away from being done cervilli sucks but the main concern should joba and the shitty bullpen
