For starters, don't lose sight that this is only one person. There are countries whose GDP per capita is lower than what the average First World worker makes in a week. There are billions of people who live worse than what FW countries consider to be the poverty line. Happiness surveys have shown that poor countries are, no surprise, appreciably less happy than FW countries, on average. The FW could mostly change this, but most people in the US, Northern Europe, Australia, etc. could give a shit. This is something to get angry about if you like to be involved in political matters. Some education and open-mindedness would help too, as political correctness is impeding solutions to world poverty.
