Gary Carter had similar career and got in
Javy Lopez had a similar career and will never get in

catcher is a tough position to get inducted into the HOF..... most guys don't have the longevity there, and get moved to DH or other positions later in the career...

I bet there are alot less Catchers in the HOF then any other position

Gary Carter was also a top defensive catcher - Javy Lopez was an average/below average defensive catcher; Posada is a below average/poor catcher.

yes, but they were all better defensive catchers than posada and most played way fewer seasons so they avged more homers and ribbies per year. ivan pudge rodriguez will get in, posada will not. no way. the rings won't matter because he wasn't even the 6th best player or better on any of the championship teams

ivan pudge rodriguez: career .299, 306 hrs, 1284 ribbies, way better defensive catcher than posada,
pudge has 14 all star appearances and an mvp, posada has 5 all star appearances, he wont get in

really? you know that for a fact? to say anyone in this era was not a juicer is naive at best, you obviously a yankee fan though as last month you were trying to put Petitte in the fukkin hall and said it was ok he juiced because he was sorry

                              Barring a bond-like surge I don't see him getting in --

3 or 4 more years of 280/350/475 w/ 20 HR still wont be quote enough -

Howard never really got close, so it seems as though Posada will not either.
Also, the power numbers need to be curved because of the higher mound and the larger ballparks back in Howard's time. Even old Yankee Stadium's fence was moved in.
