    Cards in Soccer are unreal
Before you say anything, I have Uruguay ML, and I enjoy the world cup, but that red card on the keeper was a total farce.

The keeper barely clipped his foot and he is not only booted, but locks up the game for Uruguay with a Penalty. One little skim of the foot guarantees a win and will constitute 50% of the scoring in the match...

Also, in Serbia/Ghana, an inadvertent hand ball at the edge of the box happened as the ball was going out of bounds and it locked the win for Ghana; that call was 100% of the scoring.

Teams are lucky to score 1 goal at all and the power refs have to lock up games like that is unreal.

So much for the bias of the home team. Even if that call was just following the precedent that was already established, it's ridiculous.

      Sending-off offences (red card)
A player, substitute or substituted player is dismissed from the field of play and shown the red card if he/she commits any of the following offences:
      • Serious foul play
      • Violent conduct
      • Use of abusive language and/or gestures
      • Spitting at an opponent or any other person
      • Denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper inside his/her own penalty area)
      • Denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player’s goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick (known as a professional foul)
      • Receiving a second caution (yellow card) in the same match

These threads are so useless, especially when you dont know the rules.

A lot of people thought the professional foul rule, said if last defender fouled an attacker it would be a red card.

The reason its a red card here, its because its an OBVIOUS goal chance. In those cases, it should be read. Its clearly in the rules.

Come on, stop this ignorant threads when you dont understand the game.

You won't see a clearer red card.

Suarez was running towards the goal unaccounted for with the ball. If the red card was harsh, then it would still be a PK because that would've been clearly a freekick if it was out of the box. The ref was fair there, Khune had no business attempting to trip him with someone right on his own 6.

Bottom line is the keeper missed the ball and it was an obvious scoring chance. RED CARD. PK GOOD BYE.

Excactly. Very frustrating to see threads like this, where people have no clue whatsoever.
