Example of How BeatthePrick Kills The Boards---Poster "Cheryl"
We have a poster going through bumping threads that are weeks and months old with one sentence responses. I go to the BeatthePrick standings, and of course this poster is #12 in the season standings, but has a low post count. Expect to see a lot more of this in the upcoming weeks as posters jostle for end of the year positions, and the boards will suffer for it.

If there's any way to freeze post counts for the contest purposes I think it'd be really appropriate right now. I'd do the same thing too if I were in there position, but we all suffer when two posters go on a post count rampage in order to win the contest late in the season. Please consider a post count freeze as the contest nears the end...

We will take a look at this one in the AM. Making mindless posts for numbers is not permitted and posts like you described will be moved to the private forum or deleted. Neither count. Feel free to report user names to a mod as well. Thanks

I agree with Bigbollocks. To bring back threads that are weeks old with nothing significant or interesting to add is wrong. I looked at a couple of the ones he referred to.
There was a nice little OT post about trick or treat on Halloween. I enjoyed seeing the replies, WHICH WERE ALL (but one) MADE ON OCT 31, that showed that we degenerate gamblers do have kind hearts and care about the kiddies. To have this thread brought back about 2 weeks later to add nothing is ridiculous.

Totally disagree about freezing the post counts

As long as the posts arent just padding they should be counted as the point of having posts count as tiebreakers is obviously to get more people posting

as long as its not just "good job" or "i hate the Yankees" it should count

Actually, I agree with both of you.
When I said agree with Bigb in my other post, I was referring to the "nothing" posts he referred to rather than his freezing suggestion. Although, freezing during the last couple weeks of the contest might not be a bad idea - to keep the contenders from going wild with "nothing" posts that clutter up the board. I don't like clicking on a thread that had interested me when I see it has a new post only to find out nothing of interest or significance was added.
As for deciding when a post should count, I don't imagine the mods would be able to keep up with such a task and I think it would probably not be worth their time to try to do so.

is it ok to post one liners if you are not worried about the contest?

I don't consider the "I agree" post to be a "nothing" post. After all, he was agreeing with ME.
                    And it was funny .
                    Thanks shrax.
