I think the answer to your question is that there is no answer. It's the biggest hole in the market IMO. As unreliable as they were, until last Spring DB was still the best of the lot. Now they're a disaster.

LineTracker is good for lines, but it doesn't look like they have any staff specifically devoted to tracking injuries. And why would they--bookies are on the side of bookies. They might peddle accurate numbers, but they're not going to give you information that helps you beat a move.

Someone at G&J catches some info on a pre-game show once in a while and scoops the competition, but they're by no means thorough and reliable.

On Sunday morning, ESPN is the fastest way to get the injury updates....

The problem with injury reports during the week is that coaches will hide injury updates till the last minute. Unless you scan the fan boards or listen to local talk radio it is almost impossible to catch every key injury for all the teams.

An example was that I was listening to a local talk show a few weeks ago and the announcer indicated on Wednesday of that week C. McAlister of the Ravens was out with a possible ligament tear v. Buffalo and said he would be out for a minimum of 3 weeks. There was heated local fan debate as to the validity of the injury report. Ravens coach Billick said the report was not true and it was a likely sprain by that same evening. By Friday the official injury reports indicated McAlister was day to day, and by Sunday morning he was doubtful, and eventually did not play. McAlister has been out ever since. Billick likely knew of the severity of the injury on Wednesday or earlier, but had no reason to give that information to the public any sooner than necessary (or required), and the official reports didn't even have McAlister on the list till Friday.

As for the official reports. I like to scan ESPN, covers.com and CBS sportsline as a base; however most official reports are basically the same.

my biggest loss of year was influenced by injuries. when seattle got shutout by pitts, i thought they would be significant that game and i was wrong. deon branch went down too though during game, wasn't only reason for the bet but definitely a part of it.
