What language do World Cup soccer players use on the field?

Assuming English, can anyone confirm? The Nigerians and Argentinians seem to be exchanging verbiage easily on the field.

My guess is Koreans speak Korean, Greeks speak Greek, Germans speak German...you get the idea

The official language of Nigeria is English ... a lot of Argentinians also speak very good English ... though official language is Spanish ... I'd guess the insults are being traded in English.

So it may have been a captain versus captain interchange that I saw, but it seems that multiple players on oppposing teams are conversing easily. I did not expect such lively interchange.

a mix here and there, if theyre frustrated they might curse in their own language, some bits a peices of english..all depends
