Soccer in this round is determined by points. Not wins and loses. It's so simple even a monkey can understand it. There are 4 teams in each group. They play each other once (total of 3 games). The two best teams advance (the ones with the most points). A win is awarded 3 points, a tie is awarded 1 point and a loss gets 0 points. After this round it's a knock out stage where after regulation time there is a 30 min overtime and if is still tied they go to penalty shout out.

Sure we can make it like hockey. But the players can't sit on the bench and come back. We can have them play OT until someone scores a goal. Then everyone gets hurt from cramps and then the next game will resemble a paraplegics game. This will please the American viewers who don't understand this is not football and these players have to play every two-three days if they keep winning and can't sit in the sauna for two weeks like they do in NFL and then play the Superbowl.

Paver, much more idle time in futs than hockey. Hockey you give your all and are winded for 45 sec shifts at most. It would be like a constant scramble for the ball in a 30x30 box with full contact and 20lbs on your back. I'm not taking anything away from futs players but you can't underestimate hockey like that.

I play indoor soccer. We have the same rules. We do 2-3 min shifts and then we sit on the bench for 2-3 min. I'm not saying hockey is not tough. I'm just saying if we have hockey OT rules in soccer where they play until they score then players will get hurt since only 3 permanent subs are allowed in soccer.

Perhaps its the fact that I have had very little sleep the past couple of nights (except for my nap this afternoon which really doesn't count because I was sitting upright and woke up when my neck started hurting which was like 8 minutes) but you soccer guys are whiny.
