swiss, im not 1 to judge things without trying them 1st and trying to understand them....just not really for me but to each is own all i was saying is US shouldnt win as most ppl in this country really wouldnt care all that much, a country that loves it should win it, although that would make it kinda funny if US ever won as that would have to really piss off other countries who love the sport

The thing that bothers me, by reading a few US blogs or articles on internet, is that a lot of them (but not all of them fortunately!) say they hate soccer and insinuate people who like soccer are stupid because to them soccer is a stupid game. Maybe they say that because most of the US people will agree with this but I don't really like this attitude of disdain toward soccer since it's the most popular sport in the world...

Regarding the tie system in soccer, I think it's good: a tie is worth 1 point only and a victory 3 points, that way it gives much more importance to the victory. If the game ends in a tie against a weak team, the tie can be viewed almost as a defeat since you gain only 1 point for the tie! But being not used to this system in US sports, I can understand that you don't appreciate this system

i agree most ppl judge almost everything w/o even experiencing it (like drugs for example) not me, and i certainly wasnt trying to bash it as hell like i said to each is own im sure i enjoy things other ppl dislike or have ill will towards, but it being most popular in world (outside US that is) doesnt sway me, lots of countries love rugby and i dont get that 1 at all....if ppl really insult pl for enjoying soccer they are clearly ignorant as who is anyone to tell someone else what to like but on the other spectrum it annoys me to no end that ppl keep trying to convince me to be a soccer fan when i tried and its just not for me (almost as bad as ppl trying to push religion)...enjoy your world cup and hope everything works out with your wagers

I can't speak for the "world" but here in the United States it ranks somewhere behind Poker and slightly ahead of the WNBA in terms of popularity.
