I go there twice a year or so...........awesome pokerroom, as is Pompano Park.
When this new law goes into effect, it is going to be wild and wooly...............I don't think people outside of Florida realize how big this is going to be.
As a person that has played the $100 buy-ins the past two years, you know firsthand what the new UNcapped buy-ins are going to be like..............even with the 100 buyin restrictions the past two years, the games have been fantastic.Comment -

Currently Florida only allows one to buyin for $100 max at the no limit tables.
Come July 1st, the buyins for games will be raised well above that, and in the big games, completely UNcapped!
Poker in Florida will now rival the state of Nevada and California, ............look for some bigtime tourneys to hit the area now also.Comment -

#13Ocala Poker
New limits and games.
No LImit
$1-$2 minimum buy in $100 no cap
$2-$5 minimum buy in $200 no cap
$5-$10 minimum buy in $500 no cap
$10-$25 minimum buy in $2000 no cap
For many players things won't change too drastically but what the new law allows for are some players who can afford to play with more at risk to get a better game.
With the old laws it allowed someone to come to the table with $1000 and play blind poker cause he never had to worry about his bankroll since he could only risk $100 buy in at a time. Interested to see what types of differences it will make and what types of games I can now expose myself to.Comment -

#16Wow the fact that this law is in effect is such a waste for Florida players imo. Heck I bought into an AC Tropicana 1/2 game for $60.Comment -

There are different places
No Limit will probably be 1-2, 2-5, 5-10, and 10-20..............the lower limits will have buyins from $60-500(with some UNcapped) and the higher 5-10 and above will have anywhere from 200 to UNcapped buyins.
Again, it will depend on the place.Comment -

I've placed in the money a couple times in this tourney in the past.........very good structure by Florida standards.
Is the high hand for live games???Comment -

#28Originally posted by HauntingTheHolyMany of these rooms are FAR away from each other. Sarasota and Ocala should be like three hours apart, right? Whereabouts do you live? I live in North Tampa, Zhills area. I'd like to start playing some of these games come July 1st. Which rooms have the most idiots? I've played Hard Rock the most and found it hit or miss, last year when I was playing often.
I've played anywhere from 100-500 hrs at EACH of these joints in the past 2-3 years.............my favorite games are/were the 5-10 NL at Derby Lane during daytime hours, 2-5 NL at Tampa Greyhound, the 1-2 NL at Tampa Downs, and most any game at the Hard Rock.Comment
