How much should a used 8 GB iPhone 3G cost?

Because I need to get one to replace for a friend after an accident that they have yet to find out about. I'm looking on craigslist and i see they are going for $250+ for a used one. Then I see an iPhone 3GS going for the same price

My buddy just bought a 3G S for $100.Maybe your friend will be eligible and get an update,you can pick up a new one for a $100.

Even if you get it replaced,they will know because unless you know their Itunes acct.,you wont be able to get all their apps back on there just by putting in their sim card.I think you should fess up and get it resolved.
