by their Daddy's teams....
Two sons of former Pirates managers -- and both of the sons have current local ties -- were drafted by the teams their fathers currently manage.
The first local high school player off the board was Patrick Leyland, a catcher from Bishop Canevin High School who is the son of Detroit Tigers -- and former Pirates -- manager -- Jim Leyland.
The younger Leyland went to, coincidentally, the Tigers in the eight round. It could make for an interesting choice for Patrick Leyland, as he has accepted a scholarship to Maryland, but his father has expressed recently to Detroit media members that he'd like his son to get into professional baseball sooner rather than later.
In the 22nd round, Duquesne senior utility player Mark Tracy was taken by the Colorado Rockies -- the team his father Jim, a former Pirates manager, currently manages.
